Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A chained slave, seated on armory by Pietro Antonio Novelli was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,268.37). Other works by Pietro Antonio Novelli have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2007 by the work Neptune, Standing, Facing Left, A Dolphin At His Feet at GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,931.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A chained slave, seated on armory von Pietro Antonio Novelli im Januar 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.268,37) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Pietro Antonio Novelli wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2007 die Arbeit Neptune, Standing, Facing Left, A Dolphin At His Feet mit GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.931,63).
