Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Wooded Landscape With Dunes And Figures By A Cottage by Pieter de Molijn was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,194.21). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter de Molijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A winter village landscape with peasants on a frozen waterway in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,641.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Dunes And Figures By A Cottage von Pieter de Molijn im April 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.194,21) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter de Molijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A winter village landscape with peasants on a frozen waterway im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.641,22).
