Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and British Drawings, which included the work A Quack Selling A Remedy To Peasants In A Market by Pieter Jansz. Quast. The price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,607.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Jansz. Quast - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636., which sold at auction in March 2018 for CHF 60,500.00 (€ 51,518.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Quack Selling A Remedy To Peasants In A Market von Pieter Jansz. Quast zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.607,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Jansz. Quast mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636. beobachtet, die im März 2018 für CHF 60.500,00 (€ 51.518,30) versteigert wurde.
