Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A drinking peasant courting a young lady with an angry young gentleman nearby; and A gentleman drinking with an old woman, a young lady nearby by Pieter Jansz. Quast was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2011. The price achieved of EUR 10,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Jansz. Quast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636. in March 2018 with an auction result of CHF 60,500.00 (€ 51,518.30).

Quast kam im November 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 10.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Jansz. Quast auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636. im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 60.500,00 (€ 51.518,30).
