In May 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work The Battle of Lekkerbeetje at Vught, 5 February 1600 by Pieter de Molijn. The price achieved of EUR 10,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter de Molijn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter village landscape with peasants on a frozen waterway in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,641.22).
