Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work Poppies, roses, lilies and other flowers in an urn on a carved ledge by Pieter Casteels III. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 9,829.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Casteels III achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Twelve Months of Flowers, a floral calendar of still lifes: January; February; March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; November; and December in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,640,000.00 (€ 1,328,042.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poppies, roses, lilies and other flowers in an urn on a carved ledge von Pieter Casteels III zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 9.829,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Casteels III erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Twelve Months of Flowers, a floral calendar of still lifes: January; February; March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; November; and December im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.640.000,00 (€ 1.328.042,76).
