Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Pair Of Still Lifes With Flowers In Urns Upon A Ledge, With Fruit Strewn In The Foreground by Pieter Casteels III was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,734.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Casteels III achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Twelve Months of Flowers, a floral calendar of still lifes: January; February; March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; November; and December in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,640,000.00 (€ 1,328,042.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Pair Of Still Lifes With Flowers In Urns Upon A Ledge, With Fruit Strewn In The Foreground von Pieter Casteels III im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.734,33) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Casteels III erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Twelve Months of Flowers, a floral calendar of still lifes: January; February; March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; November; and December im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.640.000,00 (€ 1.328.042,76).
