Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings and Portrait Miniatures, which included the work A View Of The Palais Du Louvre And The Tour De Nesle From The Île De La Cité, Paris; And A Capriccio Of A Coastal Estuary With A Market On The Shore by Pieter Casteels III. The price achieved of GBP 6,930.00 (€ 7,971.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Casteels III achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Twelve Months of Flowers, a floral calendar of still lifes: January; February; March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; November; and December in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,640,000.00 (€ 1,328,042.76).

Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Portrait Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A View Of The Palais Du Louvre And The Tour De Nesle From The Île De La Cité, Paris; And A Capriccio Of A Coastal Estuary With A Market On The Shore von Pieter Casteels III zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.930,00 (€ 7.971,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Casteels III erzielen.
