This artwork by Pieter Casteels III achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey auction, the work A peacock, turkey, cockerel, hen, pigeons, other birds and rabbits in a park landscape sold for GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Casteels III achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Twelve Months of Flowers, a floral calendar of still lifes: January; February; March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; November; and December in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,640,000.00 (€ 1,328,042.76).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pieter Casteels III erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey wurde die Arbeit A peacock, turkey, cockerel, hen, pigeons, other birds and rabbits in a park landscape für GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.912,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Casteels III erzielen.
