Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work A Peacock, Chickens, Pigeons And Other Birds In A Landscape by Pieter Casteels III for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,025.33). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Casteels III achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Twelve Months of Flowers, a floral calendar of still lifes: January; February; March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; November; and December in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,640,000.00 (€ 1,328,042.76).

Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Peacock, Chickens, Pigeons And Other Birds In A Landscape von Pieter Casteels III für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.025,33) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Casteels III erzielen.
