In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online, which included the work An elegant couple beside a lake; and A cowherd beside a cascading river by Pieter Bout. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,789.64), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Bout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Figures Strolling And Unloading A Cart Outside The Walls of A Town, Skating And Sleighing On A Frozen River Nearby in November 2005 with an auction result of EUR 84,000.00.

Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit An elegant couple beside a lake; and A cowherd beside a cascading river von Pieter Bout zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.789,64) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Bout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Figures Strolling And Unloading A Cart Outside The Walls of A Town, Skating And Sleighing On A Frozen River Nearby im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 84.000,00.
