Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Landscape With A Barge Being Towed Along A Canal by Pieter Bout was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,195.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Bout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Winter Landscape With Figures Strolling And Unloading A Cart Outside The Walls of A Town, Skating And Sleighing On A Frozen River Nearby in November 2005 with an auction result of EUR 84,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Landscape With A Barge Being Towed Along A Canal von Pieter Bout im April 2013 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.195,30) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Bout erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Figures Strolling And Unloading A Cart Outside The Walls of A Town, Skating And Sleighing On A Frozen River Nearby im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 84.000,00.
