Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A holiday afternoon on the Zwaenhals, near Rotterdam by Pieter Bout. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 64,625.00 (€ 71,861.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Pieter Bout have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2005 the work A Winter Landscape With Figures Strolling And Unloading A Cart Outside The Walls of A Town, Skating And Sleighing On A Frozen River Nearby was auctioned for EUR 84,000.00.
