It achieved a price of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,943.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. Admittedly, works by Piet Zwart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work NKF. Delft, The Netherlands: N.V. Nederlandische Kabelfabriek, 1928. in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,180.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Printing Press), c. 1939 von Piet Zwart wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.943,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Piet Zwart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit NKF.
