Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work Shipyard at Grouw by Piet van der Hem. The price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Piet van der Hem have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Café in Paris in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 39,400.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden.
