Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU, which included the work A young officer seated a table, full face in blue coat with red collar and silver epaulettes, embroidered white waistcoat, frilled cravat and knotted scarf tied at neck, long powdered hair; holding a quill in his right hand, his arm leaning over the by Pierre Rouvier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,648.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pierre Rouvier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,594.71).

Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young officer seated a table, full face in blue coat with red collar and silver epaulettes, embroidered white waistcoat, frilled cravat and knotted scarf tied at neck, long powdered hair; holding a quill in his right hand, his arm leaning over the von Pierre Rouvier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.232,50 (€ 3.648,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Rouvier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.594,71).
