Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Dutch The Port Of Jaffa by Pierre Henri Tetar van Elven for USD 46,875.00 (€ 36,961.84). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Pierre Henri Tetar van Elven have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View of Jerusalem, seen from the East, with the Temple Mount and the Lion's Gate in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 432,000.00 (€ 316,251.83).

Im Oktober 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Dutch The Port Of Jaffa von Pierre Henri Tetar van Elven für USD 46.875,00 (€ 36.961,84) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Henri Tetar van Elven auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A View of Jerusalem, seen from the East, with the Temple Mount and the Lion's Gate im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 432.000,00 (€ 316.251,83).
