Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Bustling Day In The Streets Of Cairo by Pierre Henri Tetar van Elven was sold in the Old Masters & 19th CenturyArt - (including Dutch Impressionism) auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 22,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Henri Tetar van Elven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View of Jerusalem, seen from the East, with the Temple Mount and the Lion's Gate in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 432,000.00 (€ 316,251.83).
