The work Townscape with cathedral in the background; and a companion painting by Pierre Dumont was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2014. The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,172.97), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Dumont achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Normandie, Paysage De Bords De Mer in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 27,801.00.

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.172,97) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Dumont erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Normandie, Paysage De Bords De Mer im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.801,00.
