The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,724.06), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Piero Fornasetti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A SET OF FOUR 'QUATTRO STAGIONI' CHAIRS, DESIGNED CIRCA 1955, which sold at auction in August 2017 for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,788.01).

Die Arbeit Group of Eight Cook Dinner Plates von Piero Fornasetti wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.724,06) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Piero Fornasetti mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A SET OF FOUR 'QUATTRO STAGIONI' CHAIRS, DESIGNED CIRCA 1955 beobachtet, die im August 2017 für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.788,01) versteigert wurde.
