Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work AN 'ARCHITETTURA' LOW TABLE, DESIGNED 1980S by Piero Fornasetti was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,578.55). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Piero Fornasetti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A SET OF FOUR 'QUATTRO STAGIONI' CHAIRS, DESIGNED CIRCA 1955, which sold at auction in August 2017 for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,788.01).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit AN 'ARCHITETTURA' LOW TABLE, DESIGNED 1980S von Piero Fornasetti im August 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.578,55) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Piero Fornasetti mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A SET OF FOUR 'QUATTRO STAGIONI' CHAIRS, DESIGNED CIRCA 1955 beobachtet, die im August 2017 für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.788,01) versteigert wurde.
