Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Peter in prison baptizing Saints Processus and Martinian by Pier Francesco Mola was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,518.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pier Francesco Mola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An artist and a youth in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 3,086,000.00 (€ 3,590,877.36).
