Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work A Lady And A Child By A Balustrade Accompanied By A Man Playing A Lute, With A Parrot by Philip van Dijk. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,113.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip van Dijk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A mother and child with a basket of fruit at a casement in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 21,510.00 (€ 33,271.10).
