Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman and his wife making music in an interior: she seated, small full length at the clavichord, wearing a green silk dress, he standing small full length behind her, playing the flute, a peacock perched on a cello leaning against a by Philip van Dijk was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,200.00 – 4,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,525.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Philip van Dijk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A mother and child with a basket of fruit at a casement in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 21,510.00 (€ 33,271.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman and his wife making music in an interior: she seated, small full length at the clavichord, wearing a green silk dress, he standing small full length behind her, playing the flute, a peacock perched on a cello leaning against a von Philip van Dijk kam im September 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.200,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 3.525,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip van Dijk auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A mother and child with a basket of fruit at a casement im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.510,00 (€ 33.271,10).
