This artwork by Philip Sutton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in August 2007. In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction, the work Penny in mirror sold for GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,507.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Sutton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers From Crown House in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,832.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Philip Sutton erzielte im August 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit Penny in mirror für GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.507,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Sutton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers From Crown House im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 8.832,40).
