This artwork by Philip Sutton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2004. In the Irish and 20th Century British Art auction, the work Heathers Gate sold for GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,944.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Sutton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers From Crown House, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,832.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Philip Sutton erzielte im Mai 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Heathers Gate für GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.944,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Sutton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers From Crown House beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 6.500,00 (€ 8.832,40) versteigert wurde.
