Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work How Lovely The Poppies by Philip Evergood was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,368.10). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Evergood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dog Bite Clinic in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 71,700.00 (€ 58,688.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit How Lovely The Poppies von Philip Evergood im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.938,00 (€ 4.368,10) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Evergood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dog Bite Clinic im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.700,00 (€ 58.688,71).
