Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work How Lovely The Poppies by Philip Evergood was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,695.40). Admittedly, works by Philip Evergood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dog Bite Clinic in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 71,700.00 (€ 58,688.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit How Lovely The Poppies von Philip Evergood im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.695,40) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Evergood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dog Bite Clinic im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.700,00 (€ 58.688,71).
