Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shicago Justus, from Conspiracy, The Artist as Witness by Peter Saul was auctioned at Christies in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,008.00 (€ 914.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Saul achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Human Dignity in May this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 768,725.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shicago Justus, from Conspiracy, The Artist as Witness von Peter Saul kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.008,00 (€ 914,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Saul erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Human Dignity im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 768.725,36).
