In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Rose, Mother of John the Shoemaker by Peter Samuelson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,536.00 (€ 1,779.89), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Samuelson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work John in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,567.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rose, Mother of John the Shoemaker von Peter Samuelson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.536,00 (€ 1.779,89) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Samuelson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit John im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.567,59).
