Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Peter Samuelson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November 2021. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Michael Rothwell, The Actor sold for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,742.42) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Samuelson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work John, which sold at auction in January 2008 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,567.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Samuelson erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Michael Rothwell, The Actor für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.742,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Samuelson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit John beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.567,59) versteigert wurde.
