In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Portrait of a Young Man by Peter Samuelson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,240.06), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Samuelson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work John in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,567.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Young Man von Peter Samuelson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.240,06) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Samuelson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit John im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.567,59).
