Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Dialogues: Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Random Illusion No. 2 by Peter Phillips. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 83,656.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Phillips - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 141,800.00 (€ 199,936.22).
