In the Objects of Vertu and Portrait Miniatures auction, the work A young lady, in a white dress with white underslip, wearing a large black hat with blue-tipped white plumbs on her powdered curling hair; sky background sold for GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,672.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Paillou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Cockerel in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,459.72).
