Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work Skull-Rack by Peter Michael Thomas Atkins. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 8,225.00 (€ 4,774.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Peter Michael Thomas Atkins have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2005 the work Figures from the Whalers Washing Shrine was auctioned for AUD 10,157.50 (€ 6,190.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Skull-Rack von Peter Michael Thomas Atkins zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 8.225,00 (€ 4.774,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Peter Michael Thomas Atkins konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im August 2005 die Arbeit Figures from the Whalers Washing Shrine für AUD 10.157,50 (€ 6.190,06) versteigert.
