Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Peter McDonald achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2021. In the Olympic Dreams auction, the work Podium sold for HKD 302,400.00 (€ 34,253.12) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter McDonald have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work How it is in April last year with an auction result of HKD 1,512,000.00 (€ 182,811.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter McDonald erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Olympic Dreams wurde die Arbeit Podium für HKD 302.400,00 (€ 34.253,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter McDonald auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit How it is im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.512.000,00 (€ 182.811,81).
