Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blue Zazen by Peter McDonald was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 50,400.00 (€ 6,093.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter McDonald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work How it is in April last year with an auction result of HKD 1,512,000.00 (€ 182,811.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Blue Zazen von Peter McDonald kam im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 50.400,00 (€ 6.093,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter McDonald erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit How it is im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.512.000,00 (€ 182.811,81).
