Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Peter McDonald achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. In the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Chairlift sold for HKD 756,000.00 (€ 84,094.53) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter McDonald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work How it is, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 1,512,000.00 (€ 182,811.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter McDonald erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Chairlift für HKD 756.000,00 (€ 84.094,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 280.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter McDonald mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit How it is beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 1.512.000,00 (€ 182.811,81) versteigert wurde.
