Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,760.10) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter La Cave - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures outside an inn, with a sow and piglets, houses beyond; and Figures sharpening a scythe, with two donkeys, farm buildings beyond, which sold at auction in October 2011 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,509.87).
