Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter La Cave could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II auction, the work Figures and cattle in a wooded landscape, a ruin beyond changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 440.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter La Cave achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures outside an inn, with a sow and piglets, houses beyond; and Figures sharpening a scythe, with two donkeys, farm buildings beyond in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,509.87).
