Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work A herder with cattle before a village by Peter La Cave for GBP 235.00 (€ 384.10). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter La Cave achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures outside an inn, with a sow and piglets, houses beyond; and Figures sharpening a scythe, with two donkeys, farm buildings beyond in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,509.87).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter La Cave erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures outside an inn, with a sow and piglets, houses beyond; and Figures sharpening a scythe, with two donkeys, farm buildings beyond im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.509,87).
