Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work St Agnes Beacon by Peter Lanyon. The price achieved of GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,021.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Lanyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orpheus in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,268,750.00 (€ 1,431,111.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Agnes Beacon von Peter Lanyon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.340,00 (€ 13.021,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Lanyon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orpheus im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.268.750,00 (€ 1.431.111,45).
