A top price for Peter Lanyon
This artwork by Peter Lanyon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2018. In the Modern British Art Evening Sale auction, the work Orpheus sold for GBP 1,268,750.00 (€ 1,431,111.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700,000.00. This high result makes Orpheus the most expensive artwork by Peter Lanyon that we have observed at auctions so far.
