Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Henry Emerson could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Pictures of East Anglian Life changed hands for GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,162.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Henry Emerson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Henry Emerson konnte im Mai 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Pictures of East Anglian Life für GBP 2.987,50 (€ 4.162,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Henry Emerson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 25.755,49).
