In October this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Matchbreaker by Peter Halley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 100,800.00 (€ 115,746.40), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Halley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yellow Cell With Triple Conduit in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 513,000.00 (€ 584,078.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Matchbreaker von Peter Halley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 115.746,40) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Halley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yellow Cell With Triple Conduit im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 513.000,00 (€ 584.078,81).
