Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Drifter, from the series '100 Years Ago' by Peter Doig was auctioned at Phillips in New York in December 2006. Here, the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,560.00 (€ 3,455.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Doig achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swamped in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 39,862,500.00 (€ 35,317,179.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Drifter, from the series '100 Years Ago' von Peter Doig kam im Dezember 2006 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.560,00 (€ 3.455,33) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Doig erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swamped im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 39.862.500,00 (€ 35.317.179,06).
