Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boiler House by Peter Doig was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 13,895,500.00 (€ 15,429,767.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Doig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Swamped, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 39,862,500.00 (€ 35,317,179.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Boiler House von Peter Doig wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.895.500,00 (€ 15.429.767,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Doig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Swamped beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 39.862.500,00 (€ 35.317.179,06) versteigert wurde.
