Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lincoln Cathedral by Peter de Wint was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,987.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter de Wint achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two boys with a donkey in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,114.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lincoln Cathedral von Peter de Wint kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.987,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter de Wint erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two boys with a donkey im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.114,73).
