Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Christies in London held the auction Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art, which included the work Still life with a wicker basket, cloth, earthenware pot and brush by Peter de Wint. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,975.49). Admittedly, works by Peter de Wint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two boys with a donkey in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,114.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with a wicker basket, cloth, earthenware pot and brush von Peter de Wint zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.975,49) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter de Wint auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two boys with a donkey im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.114,73).
