Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A ferry near Doncaster, South Yorkshire by Peter de Wint was sold in the Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art auction at Christies in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,975.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter de Wint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two boys with a donkey in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,114.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A ferry near Doncaster, South Yorkshire von Peter de Wint wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.975,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter de Wint auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two boys with a donkey im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.114,73).
